2. AndroidManifest.xml
AKS's own manifest only declares:
xml
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK" />These merge into your app automatically via Gradle's manifest merger — you don't need to add them yourself.
What you do need to add to your own AndroidManifest.xml — both the AdMob App ID meta-data tag and the registration of your custom Application subclass (see §5) go on the same <application> element:
xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
<application
android:name=".YourApplication">
<!-- Required if AdMob/GAM is one of your enabled ad networks. Use your own
AdMob App ID from the AdMob console — it can't be bundled inside AKS
since it's specific to your app. -->
<meta-data
android:name="com.google.android.gms.ads.APPLICATION_ID"
android:value="ca-app-pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX~YYYYYYYYYY" />
<!-- keep your existing <activity>, <service>, <provider>, etc. declarations here -->
</application>
</manifest>Merge the android:name attribute and the meta-data tag into your existing <application> element rather than pasting this as a second one — a manifest can only have one <application> tag.
